When it comes to highlighting individual skills and accomplishments, a good resume is essential to ensuring the success of candidates in every industry. In the midst of a global pandemic, many people are finding themselves searching for work or changing careers as a result of lost employment, business closures, and layoffs. This workshop is intended to give members an overview of various topics related to resume writing, resume types, and various formats. Additional topic covered include: Considerations for Career Changes; Applicant Tracking Systems (how to overcome them); Interviewing practices There will also be a question and answer session following the presentation. Participants will also have the opportunity to sign up for free one-on-one resume review and interviewing sessions.

When it comes to getting technical audiences to buy into training, success is all about relevance and interest. If it doesn’t prepare them for the specific security battles they face, they’ll tune it out. Recent Ponemon research shows that realistic simulation training and tying training to a learner’s job function are the most effective ways to build skills and improve an organization’s Security Effectiveness Score (SES). By utilizing hands-on training methods in a familiar technical environment, learners can enumerate security risks in a native context. More importantly, it’s the most effective way to measure staff risk and stockpile talent. This talk discusses methods to train technical audiences in order to create engagement, lasting behavior change, and, dare I say, enjoyment.

The 2019 ISC2 ² Cybersecurity Workforce Study revealed that the percentage of women in cybersecurity has slightly increased to 24%; however, these numbers continue to leave much to be desired and efforts continue to move the needle forward. While men still outnumber women in the cybersecurity profession and salary disparity still exists, women in the field are obtaining leadership positions in higher numbers. Join us as Atlanta area security leaders share their journey and engage in a discussion on ways to succeed and advance in the cybersecurity industry.
