Brenda Bjerke, Senior Director, Cybersecurity, Target Brenda Bjerke is a Senior Director of Cybersecurity at Target where she leads the Cyber Risk team. In her role, she is responsible for the Cybersecurity Management Office, Information Security Policy, Training & Awareness, Vendor Security, Business Information Security Office (BISO), Payments & Compliance (PCI, GLBA, SOX & HIPAA) teams for the enterprise. She joined Target in 2003. After Target’s data security incident in 2013, Brenda played an important role in transforming Target’s security culture. Brenda serves on the Executive Leadership Team for Target tech’s Diversity Action Committee which works to ensure a culture of open dialogue, diversity, inclusion, and respect. Alongside that effort, she serves as the Executive Women’s Forum champion to advance women in security initiatives at Target and mentors several women throughout the tech industry. Recently, Brenda has taken on a leadership role as an Ambassador to the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP) to support the growth of a diverse workforce within Cybersecurity. She is serves as the Target Sponsor for Blacks United in Leading Technology (BUiLT) to advocate for the inclusion and advancement of Black technologists globally. Brenda has earned a Bachelor of Applied Business and Masters of Business Administration. She is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP). Brenda spends her free time with her family and enjoys volunteering at charities close to her heart.
Frank Ross, Sr. Manager, Cybersecurity Engineering & Operations – General Mills Frank leads the Cyber Security Engineering & Operations organization at General Mills, one of the world's largest food companies operating in over 100 countries. He is responsible for the overall strategy, delivery and execution of architecture, capabilities and solutions related to Cyber Security infrastructure platforms and services. The key services, capabilities, and solutions his organization delivers at scale are an intrinsic component of the security program ensuring the organization's web applications, enterprise systems, network assets and data are safeguarded against current and emerging cyber security threats. Frank holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Sociology from Macalester College and a master's degree in Software Engineering from the University of Saint Thomas. He has been managing, leading, or supporting Information Technology and Security for over 15 years and is GIAC certified as a Network and Web Application Penetration Tester.
Mike Salters, Director in Cybersecurity - Target Mike Salters is a Director in Cybersecurity and has been in Target Tech for over 25 years. He currently leads the Data Protection team which is responsible for protecting Target's most sensitive information. Mike is passionate about diversity and is involved in several programs designed to increase and retain diverse representation in technology. He participates in several internal and external D&I initiatives and is on the leadership team for the Twin Cities chapter of the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP). He has attained several security certifications and received a patent for his work on smart chip technology. Mike received his bachelor's from Ohio State and his MBA from University of Minnesota.
