CAE – An Acronym You Should Get to Know

DHS, NSF, NSA, NICCS….and:  CAE!

So many acronyms…ICMCP is making CAE your, Acronym of the Day!  Exciting.

CENTER FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE.  CAE.  And yes – this is CYBER specific.

FROM THE NICCS website:  “DHS and NSA jointly sponsor the National Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) program. The goal of the program is to reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and expertise in cyber defense (CD).”

Today, there are over 250 top colleges and universities across 47 states, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico designated as CAEs in cyber defense.  This is fantastic, of course -  The PIPELINE exists!

These CAE institutions are designated “based on their robust degree programs and close alignment to specific cybersecurity-related knowledge units (KUs), validated by top subject matter experts in the field.”

ICMCP is working closely with NICCS (National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers and Studies) and CAE institutions in key markets around the country to “Bridge the Gap” – targeting our efforts to minority student populations…making sure students are aware of these programs…making sure students achieve in these programs.

ICMCP brings you this important, Acronym of the Day:  CAE!
